It’s been said that we have only 2 seasons in Wisconsin: winter and road construction. April 1 means road construction barrels are already being set up and that’s no April Fool’s joke. In this video from Building Wisconsin TV, host Stuart Keith meets with WiDot Secy. Craig Thompson who gives an update on a major project near Madison as well as other projects around the state. Stu also meets with WI Operating Engineers Local 139 President Terry McGowan to see how their members completed the Hwy 12/18 project involving a new bridge overpass, installation of roundabouts, water management and reclamation of adjacent land. We finish up at the WI Operating Engineers Training Center In Coloma with Robb Kahl from the Construction Business Group who tells how students throughout Wisconsin can get started on an Operating Engineer career while still in high school and be ready to graduate into an apprenticeship.
