We review the accomplishments during Wisconsin’s 2023 Road Construction season in this video from Building Wisconsin TV. Host Stuart Keith meets with WiDot Secy Craig Thompson to follow up on a major project near Madison along with a review of other road projects around the state. Stu also meets with WI Operating Engineers Local 139 President Terry McGowan to see how their members completed the Hwy 12/18 project involving a new bridge overpass, installation of roundabouts, water management and reclamation of adjacent land. We finish up at the WI Operating Engineers Training Center In Coloma with Robb Kahl from the Construction Business Group to see how high school students throughout Wisconsin are getting a first hand look at becoming an Operating Engineer. We’ll learn how students can get started on their career in high school and be ready to graduate into an apprenticeship.
