While March 1 marks the meteorological start of spring, in Wisconsin we like to joke that there are only two seasons: winter and road construction. If the snow is melting, road construction season will be starting soon with projects ranging from Interstate expansion to local repair initiatives. One thing they all have in common is that aggregate from quarries plays an important part. In today’s video from Building Wisconsin TV, host Stuart Keith meets with state and industry guests and travels to a couple quarries to see how members from Wisconsin Operating Engineers Local 139 are getting the job done. Remember to slow down in construction zones.
