The $456 million expansion of the Baird Center in downtown Milwaukee is nearing completion as nearly 400 workers are performing different tasks inside the structure. Here’s a slideshow tour of the expansion and in this video from Building Wisconsin TV, host Stuart Keith meets on site with contractors and members of Ironworkers Local 8. From massive steel beams being placed to the rebar and reinforcements needed to build this massive structure, Ironworkers Josh Kettle and Josh Janis from JP Cullen take us on a super cool tour. Stu also visits the Ironworkers Local 8 Training Center in Neenah to meet with Business Mgr Charlie Falkner and Apprenticeship Coordinator Rich Hanson to learn about starting a career as an Ironworker and the training that goes into becoming one.
