Check out the “Road to Las Vegas” in this episode of Building Wisconsin TV as we visit the Spec Mix Bricklayer 500 Regional Competition in Fond du Lac Wisconsin. We’ll start with an introduction from Jim Vick, State Director of the Bricklayers & Allied Craftworkers. Then catch up with Mike Rolf from Spec Mix who will provide an overview the competition and we’ll then meet up with Wisconsin’s own Spec Mix Bricklayer World Champion Michael Schlund to hear first hand what it’s like to compete, win a regional, and then move on to win the Super Bowl of Masonry in Las Vegas not once, but twice. To finish the show, we head to a cement masonry project at DC Everest High School near Wausau WI and meet with Steve Lewis from Lewis Construction to see how a concrete pour is done with his crew of cement masons from the Bricklayers & Allied Craftworkers of Wisconsin.
