Join host Stuart Keith as we’ll take a closer look at pipe welding in this episode of Building Wisconsin TV as we meet up with the members of Local 400 to learn about what’s referred to as “Straight Line Fabrication”. We’ll start at the Plumbers and Steamfitters Local 400 Training Center in Kaukauna WI with Business Manager Doug Dokey to learn about their training for new and experienced welders and one of the only Pipe Welding Fabrication Apprenticeships in the country. We then head out to some of their local signatory contractors including Team Industries, Enerpipe and Piping Systems Inc to get a first-hand look at straight line pipe fabrication where all the welding is done in a controlled environment and then shipped to the project site.
