Road construction projects have continued during the COVID-19 pandemic with appropriate safety measures in place. WIDOT staff has been working with private sector contractors and labor unions to ensure physical distancing and other safety measures at work sites. And some work that would have been done at night was able to be done more safely during the day due to reduced traffic. Aggregate from quarries plays an important part of every major road construction project in Wisconsin. In today’s video from Building Wisconsin TV, host Stuart Keith meets with industry guests and travels to a couple quarries to see how members from WI Operating Engineers Local 139 are getting the job done.
