The $456 million expansion of the Baird Center in downtown Milwaukee is getting ready for its close-up. It just hosted the 2024 Milwaukee Auto Show and it’s due to receive national attention in July when 50,000 people come to Milwaukee for the Republican National Convention. In this video from Building Wisconsin TV, host Stuart Keith meets at the Baird Center construction site with contractors and members of Ironworkers Local 8. From massive steel beams being placed to the rebar and reinforcements needed to build this massive structure, Ironworkers Josh Kettleand Josh Janis from JP Cullen take us on a super cool tour. Stu also visits the Ironworkers Local 8 Training Center in Neenah to meet with Business Mgr Charlie Falkner and Apprenticeship Coordinator Rich Hanson to learn about starting a career as an Ironworker and the training that goes into becoming one.
