On Friday, May 29, Dane County hosted a construction recruitment event in collaboration with Camosy Construction, the Building Trades Council of South Central Wisconsin and Wisconsin Regional Training Partnership/BIG STEP to work on the Dane County East District Campus. Over 50 construction workers and others interested in a career in the building trades attended the event which was held at the Labor Temple at 1602 S. Park St. in Madison WI.
Those in attendance met with representatives from general contractor Camosy Construction, RG Houston, Hooper Corporation, Sergenians, Madison College and the Urban League of Madison. The building trades involved included the Elevator Operators, Carpenters, Electricians, Plumbers, Sheet Metal Workers, Painters and Allied Trades, Bricklayers and Craftworkers. The $22 million Dane County East District Campus project includes a garage and salt storage public works building and a medical examiner’s office building. The work is underway, with completion expected in the summer of 2016.
