CampBUILD is the result of a combined vision between the Badgerland Girl Scouts and Madison College to help build a bridge between women and the skilled trades. This summer, CampBUILD hosted camps for girls from pre-K through high school over 2 weeks. Kindergarteners designed and built birdhouses with hand tools while middle and high school students were introduced to welding basics, plumbing systems and the use of power tools. In today’s video from Building Wisconsin TV, Plumbers Local 75 apprentice Christina B. tells why she switched from college to a plumbing apprenticeship.
