This video from Building Wisconsin TV features Heat and Frost Insulators Local 127 who work in northeast Wisconsin and Michigan’s Upper Peninsula. Host Stuart Keith starts with Local 127 Business Manager Jeremy Wicke at their Training Center in Clintonville WI to learn what mechanical insulators do on the job and how interested candidates can get started in a professional career. We’ll also meet Local 127 instructor Kirby Ketola to see how apprentices are trained in the classroom and through simulated mock-ups with a range of insulating materials. We then head to Straightline Refrigeration in Kaukauna WI and meet with Director of Operations, Nate Luedtke to learn about insulating in refrigeration applications and then meet with John Jewell from Taylor Insulation to see members from Local 127 in action. Then we head to the Weston Power Plant near Wausau WI to learn what mechanical insulators do in power plants with Matt Cullen from WEC Energy Group and watch Local 127 members working at the plant with Business Manager Jeremy Wicke.
